Toyota Surf and 4Runner Steering Shaft Extension
This Toyota Surf and 4Runner steering shaft extension is designed for all 1996 to 2002 models fitted with a 2-inch / 50mm body lift. Model codes KZN185, RZN185, VZN185, KDN185, RZN180 and VZN180.
This steering extension restores factory steering shaft spline engagement so the body lift can be completed.
Machined Steering Extension for Body Lifts
The extension is machined from solid steel bar and contains no welded sections. It is designed to interlock securely with the factory steering shaft connection and is supplied with high-tensile 12.9-grade fasteners and spring washers.

Why is a Steering Shaft Extension Required for a 3rd Generation Surf or 4Runner?
When installing a 2inch / 50mm body lift kit into a 1996 to 2002 Toyota Surf or 4 Runner the factory steering shaft doesn't have enough adjustment to suit the lift. This steering extension is required to complete this lift and restore factory steering spline contact. This extension forms a solid splined joint in the steering shaft. In New Zealand this is the only way to get the vehicle certified for use on road, and is also a much safer option than aluminum spacers that are supplied by some other sellers.
