Factory diff breathers and gearbox and transmission breathers are often positioned low on the vehicle, close to the axle or gearbox housing. During a water crossing, the rapid cooling of warm mechanical components can create a vacuum. If the factory breather is submerged, water, mud and grit may be drawn into the differential or gearbox as the pressure equalises.
The Flatout Offroad breather extension kits relocate the breathers to a higher position in the engine bay, helping reduce the risk of contamination entering your differentials, gearbox or transfer case. All the breathers have a filter that is protected buy a stainless steel housing.

Two-Port and Four-Port Breather Kits
You can choose between a two-port or four-port Toyota breather kit.
A two-port kit is used to extend the front and rear differential breathers. Four-port kits have additional fittings to extend the gearbox and transfer-case breathers, providing more complete protection for vehicles regularly used off road.
Each kit includes the hose, fittings, filters, cable ties and splash-resistant breather housing required for installation. Fitting advice is also included, and most kits can be installed using basic hand tools.
