Relocate the factory drivetrain breathers on your Nissan GQ or GU Patrol / Safari to a higher position in the engine bay.
This diff breather extension kit helps reduce the chance of water, mud and grit entering your drivetrain during river crossings, muddy tracks and wet off-road driving. Choose between a 2-port kit for the front and rear differentials or a 4-port kit that also extends the gearbox and transfer case breathers.

2-Port Diff Breather Kit
The 2-port kit extends the front and rear differential breathers.
Kit includes:
- 1 × Mounting bracket and breather housing
- 4 × Self-tapping mounting screws
- 2 × Breather filters
- 4 × Hose connectors
- 20 × Cable ties
- 6 Metres of 10 mm diff breather hose
- Fitting advice
The supplied hose is enough for most GQ and GU Patrol/Safari installations.
4-Port Drivetrain Breather Kit
The 4-port kit extends the front and rear differential breathers, gearbox breather and transfer case breather.
Kit includes:
- 1 × Splash-protected mounting bracket and breather housing
- 4 × Self-tapping mounting screws
- 4 × Breather filters
- 8 × Hose connectors
- 20 × Cable ties
- 8 metres of 10 mm breather hose

The 4-port kit is the best option for vehicles regularly used for river crossings, mud driving or more serious off-road use.
Why Extend Your Nissan Patrol or Safari Diff Breathers?
As your vehicle is driven, the differentials, gearbox and transfer case heat up. This causes the air inside these components to expand and vent through their factory breathers.
When a hot differential enters cold water, the air inside cools and contracts quickly. If the factory breather is submerged at this point, the resulting pressure difference may allow water, mud or grit to enter the drivetrain.
Relocating the breathers higher in the engine bay provides a cleaner and drier location for them to vent. This helps protect your drivetrain oils and internal components during water crossings.
Protected Breather Housing
The supplied breather housing helps shield the filters from direct splashes, mud and dust inside the engine bay.
The cover can be easily removed when the breathers need to be inspected or cleaned.
Installation
Installation generally takes approximately one to four hours and can be completed using basic hand tools.
Depending on the exact vehicle and existing breather arrangement, drilling and tapping a thread may be required to install some fittings. Check the installation requirements before beginning, or contact us if you need advice.
